Wow what an amazing end to a wonderful set of books. I am
sorry to see it go, but if it had to end I cannot think of a better
way to end it. I got the first book at a whim and fell in love.
I love the paranormal and have read so many novels. But
this series was so far from the norm.

This book is about Dane the captain of the watchtower
Knights. His sense of duty and loyalty has always come first,
even if he has feelings for Amelia. Dane is the noblest of
them all he never thought he would be blessed to have his
witch. He loves Amelia even if she does not know it. He has
resigned to see her go through with another Knight. Even if
it tears him up to think so.

But for Amelia, she knows their is only one person she can
trust not to hurt her. She Loves Gabe like a brother, so it
cannot be him. She never gives her heart too those she has
sex with. And never has sex with those she has given her
heart too. So that leaves her with only one choice and that is
Dane.

Dane is not sure he can go into ritual with Amelia till Gabe
asks Dane “You know why she loves me unconditionally?
Because I will never have sex with her. She is like a sister to
me. But you know she flirts with other men, with no second
thought. It is because they will never have her heart, but
your different Dane. You don’t fall into either category” what
a revelation for him. Now he just has to get her heart as well.

I love how this all comes about. And Wait to you get to the
big show down with Malleus. I was so glad to see that evil
S.O.B. gone. You have to read this series but do yourself
a favor get them all as you will want to see how it all goes down.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book,
please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it
when you do; they value your opinions too.

Amelia will trust her body to a man, but never her heart.

Unfortunately for her, Dane wants both.

Amelia Sutton isn't interested in being a hero. She's just a
witch who wants to live a normal, happy life. But that life is
under threat from Malleus – a practitioner of magic so dark it
could bring down the world.

To protect her home and those she loves from Malleus,
Amelia must perform a dangerous ritual to increase her
power. Unfortunately for her, that means spending the night
with a man already too close to stealing her heart and
jeopardizing her no-risk future.

As a Watchtower Knight, Dane is sworn to defend and
protect Dahnan Witches. His sense of duty and loyalty has
always come first, and despite his feelings for Amelia, he
knows she's not meant for him. But when Amelia asks him
to join with her in an ancient binding ritual, he dares to
believe they may have a chance at love after all.

Amelia’s return to the World Between was so clandestine she felt like an extra in a James Bond movie. The woman whose face and body had adorned billboards from New York to Milan was gone, and in her place was a Witch wrapped head to toe in a black cloak. It would have been funny if she wasn’t so worried.
Walking through the night-shrouded gardens she felt the brush of Watchtower magic against her senses. She knew it was Dane before she saw or heard him, his energy signature was as familiar to her as her own. Just the thought of him made her heart race, and she had a feeling that their separation hadn’t performed the emotional miracle she’d been looking for.
Dane was a great guy. Strong, smart, loyal, and sexy as hell. If she’d been interested in having a relationship of any kind she would have snapped him up in a heartbeat. But she didn’t want a boyfriend or a partner – she had no interest in bringing a man into her life on a permanent basis. And Dane was a permanent kind of man. It wasn’t in his nature to do casual, and she cared too much about him to offer something that he’d see as a diminishment of his worth.
She knew Dane was out here watching over her, but after ten minutes of brisk walking his physical distance was getting on her nerves. Her head was too busy, too worried about how she would react once she saw him again and the anticipation was making her cranky.
Well, there was only one way to take care of that, so she stopped walking. Raising her voice loud enough to put a fire under any Knight, she delivered her ultimatum.
“I’m not wandering around in the dark any more. I’m tired, I’m hungry, and I’m not in the mood to indulge your cloak and dagger bullshit.” She pushed the hood of her cloak from her head, not caring that her blond hair shone bright in the moonlight. “If you don’t get your ass out here, Dane, I’ll—”
“Don’t finish that sentence.” His voice was quiet, but it fell as deadly as a sword. “We’ve gone to a great deal of trouble to smuggle you in. I won’t have you ruining it by shouting your arrival to anyone within earshot.”
Amelia snorted. “There’s nobody out here except you and me.”
“So let’s keep it that way.”
The shadow in front of her solidified into the tall, broad, familiar shape of a Watchtower Knight. Dane halted barely a pace away and offered her a formal bow, right hand on his heart and left on the short-sword at his hip. “Welcome home, my lady.”
“Thank you.” It was on the tip of her tongue to say she was glad to be back, which was true – but it was also not true, so she didn’t elaborate.
“Are you well?” Dane’s voice rubbed over her like mink on skin and Amelia couldn’t control the shiver that raced up her spine. He took a step forward and her whole body sparked to life.
“Yes, thank you.” Health wise at least. Mentally she was in big trouble.
She could almost feel the last two months of careful fabrication shredding away. She’d spent weeks convincing herself that Dane was just another member of the cohort, that the fleeting kiss he gave her when she left was nothing more than a gesture between friends. Now his presence after such long absence was sending her body haywire.
“Can I conjure a magelight?” Maybe if she could see him, that voice of his wouldn’t be so potent.
Closing the distance, Dane slid his hand under her cloak and rested it on her waist. The heat of his palm almost melted her bones. “It’s not safe to have a light.” He pulled her a little closer and when he spoke again his voice was barely a whisper. “Have you forgotten what I look like, Amelia? Two months is a long time.”
“No, I haven’t forgotten.” And it wasn’t from lack of trying. Forgetting how sexy Dane was would have made her life much simpler.
“I haven’t forgotten you either.” With the slightest pressure of his hand he closed the distance between them, and like an idiot she let him. Pressed hip to hip and breast to chest, she could feel every shift of muscle, every breath he took. He lowered his head and rubbed his cheek against her temple. Amelia shuddered, leaning into him as delicious sensations teased her body.
“Everything about you is burned into my brain, so deep and true that no amount of distance can diminish it.” Dane slid both arms around her and let his big, strong hands roam over her back. “I missed everything about you. The glory of your magic and your strength of character. Your sunlight colored hair and bright blue eyes. The luscious curves of your body, and those soft, pouty lips . . .”
Amelia knew he was going to kiss her, she could hear it in his voice, feel it in the tension of his body. She even fancied she could sense it in his magic. And when he tilted his head to hers she didn’t pull away, even though she knew that was the smarter course of action.
When Dane lowered his mouth to hers, she rose up to meet him. His lips were full, firm and warm. He nibbled and sipped, sucking on her skin and teasing her with his tongue. She felt a tug on the clasp of her cloak, then the heavy fabric fell away.
Every point of contact sent bolts of pleasure arcing through her system, and Dane’s decadent mouth seemed to have a hotline to her erogenous zones. His arms held her tight and hard to his body, but his kisses were soft and flirty, a sensory combination that had Amelia arching into him for more.
In desperation she snaked her arms over his massive shoulders and squeezed, pulling him down even as she used him as leverage to get closer. Her breasts crushed against his chest and when she was high enough to rub her hips against his she moaned in pleasure.
With a muttered oath Dane grabbed her ass and lifted her up. “Wrap those long legs around my waist, pretty girl.”
Amelia didn’t need a second invitation. Locking her ankles behind his back she rubbed her core against his belly. “Kiss me properly, Dane. I can’t bear the tease anymore.”
Taking her at her word he wrapped one arm under her ass and used his free hand to fist her bound hair. Then he kissed her. Hot, possessive, demanding. He mashed his lips to hers and devoured her, his tongue thrusting against hers, challenging her to meet him stroke for stroke.
It was the kiss of a madman and she loved it. Staid, controlled, in-charge Dane brought undone by the touch of her lips on his. It was exhilarating to know she could make him lose his mind, just as it was terrifying that he could make her lose hers. Not terrifying enough for her to stop though.
She kissed him back with everything she had, pouring her need and desire into every stroke of her tongue, every bite of his lips. Tearing his mouth from hers, Dane burned a trail of erotic kisses along her jawline and down her neck. Amelia was on fire for him and she threw her head back in total abandon.
Everything in her ached. In that moment all she could think about was getting naked and sweaty with this gorgeous man.
“We have to stop.” Dane muttered the words against her neck but his lips never lost contact.
Amelia wanted to disagree but she knew he was right. “We do have to stop.”
Moving his hand to the front of her body Dane cupped her breast. “This is a bad idea, for both of us.”
“It is.” Then he squeezed and she clenched in need. “It’s a shame it feels so amazing.”
Dane grunted but she could hear the wry humor in his voice. “Isn’t it though? It would be so much easier if we didn’t want each other so badly.”
Wouldn’t it though?
“Are we okay, Amelia?”
“Yes, Dane, we’re okay.” She prayed with everything in her that her statement wasn’t going to turn into a lie.
